Leg veins
Leg veins can be very unsightly on the legs, it is a skin problem which in most cases can occur from the age of 26. There are several factors that influence the development of these unsightly veins. Such as having a standing job, pregnancy, age, genetic predisposition. The kegs can be blue/purple or red in colour and are quite superficial. The vein walls are sagging, causing the blood in these veins to stand still. The function then stops, and other blood veins take over. The unsightly leg veins can be treated and removed without any consequences.
The Treatment
The treatment is performed with a Long-Pulsed ND: Yag 1064 nm laser is used for this purpose. The laser light penetrates the skin and searches for the 'oxyhaemoglobin' (this gives blood its red colour) of the blood. This heats the blood veins, causing the vein wall to contract. The body then cleans up the remains. This process feels warm and possibly burning during the treatment.

Aftercare
After the treatment, the skin will be red. There may also be a slight swelling. This will persist for 1 to 2 days. The blood veins may look brighter after the treatment. This may take a few weeks to pull away.
